Now It Can Be Told
- Author Name:
A.N. Bali
- Book Type:

- Description: ‘Now It Can Be Told’ is the story of deception and glory which some political leaders in India surrounded themselves with to cover their erroneous policy decisions and acts of omission and commission, which were responsible for plunging Bengal and Punjab into troubled waters. After Partition, Hindus of Punjab in general and Sikhs in particular have complained about their problems remaining unaddressed; they blame the leaders for throwing them to the wolves in their quest for grabbing power. The Sikhs have suffered the most grievously. From being rulers of Punjab that spanned from Delhi to Khyber Pass, a little more than a century ago; they have for the past two years become wanderers. Unable to call a single district of Punjab as their home. Can there be a single instance cited, where a strong and large religious community like the Sikhs lost the Holiest of its places to others? This book is a faithful account of day-to-day occurrences in Lahore and other parts of Punjab during the critical period of 1947 when the fate of India was being decided by its leaders and at a time when Punjabi Sikhs and Hindus underwent untold miseries and hardship. This book should be treated more as a souvenir of Partition than as a treatise on history. This book is being reproduced without any editing or changes. It is an important document for understanding the circumstances and facts during Partition. Only the lot of the refugees is unenviable. The glow of freedom is certainly not found on their faces. They have lost their everything; their homes and hearths, their kith and kin, their properties, moveable and immovable, their religious shrines and sacred places hallowed by the blood of their martyrs and their accustomed ways of life and living. With their scanty resources dwindling fast, with the snail-like pace of rehabilitation and with the blasted career of their children staring them in the face, they are living in the daily dread of worse and worse things to come. The objective of writing this book is to rouse the conscience of the country, giving it a glimpse of the hell which the prosperous and proud people of North-West Pakistan had to suffer in those critical days and to appeal to the leaders to learn from their past mistakes and take determined and suitable measures in hand to undo the evil effects of the greatest ‘wrong’ of history.

Description:

Kasturba Gandhi: A Complete Biography
- Author Name:
A.K. Gandhi
- Book Type:

- Description: Kasturba Gandhi (née Kapadia) was born on April 11, 1869, at Porbandar, Gujrat. She married Gandhiji at the tender age of thirteen. A popular adage says that there is a woman behind every successful man. This statement appears to be literally true when it comes to Kasturba who adopted all the edicts, rights or wrongs of Gandhiji and played a vital role in transforming Gandhi into Mahatma Gandhi. She walked shoulder to shoulder with him in jails and during the racial discrimination movement in South Africa. Her popularity was humongous, and Gandhiji once said, “Those people who came into close contact with me and Ba, many among them had more faith in Ba than in me.” Ba breathed her last on February 22, 1944, in a prison. This biography of Kasturba Gandhi enables us to get a clear glimpse into the soul of a girl, who played a pivotal role during the years of freedom struggle in India from the tender age of thirteen to her death.
Handbook of Acupressure
- Author Name:
Dr. Preeti Pai +1
- Book Type:

- Description: Of late, it is being observed that people around the globe are becoming more health conscious. Whereas, on one hand, scientists are busy carrying out researches, finding the cause(S) in the sudden spurt of diseases in its dreaded form and finding drugs to combat such ailments which assume epidemic shape and a host of innovative methods being deviced in the field of Surgery, a marked shift is seen amongst the masses towards the holistic approach. More and more people trying to get focused towards fitness, adopting Yoga & Naturopathy as a way of life. Paying more attention than before on their diet regime. Trying to take recourse to available non-conventional systems of medicine. One of the causative factors, perhaps, is the exorbitant cost of medicine, growing awareness about the side effects of allopathic drugs etc...! The redeeming feature is that people have started realising the importance of Prevention rather than a Cure. Over a period of time, acupressure has emerged as a prominent therapy since it is free from any side effect, since no medication whatsoever is required. It is totally non-conventional, non-invasive & non-interventional, a home remedy, easy to learn and practice. The simple reason being that it is evolved on the principle that human body in itself possesses immense healing power, all that is required is to tap that healing force of the body and the rest is taken care by the body itself. This therapy has been found to be very very effective in handling conditions e.g. Cervical/Lumber spondylitis, knee pain, Sciatica, Slip-disc, depression, insomnia, migraine, asthma, hypertension, PMS, IBS, various female/male problems etc..... to name a few. After the publication of our book 101 Q&A acupressure & reflexology, our students have been demanding a book sharing our experience of about 30 years in this Art & Science. This book is to meet the demand of upcoming and practicing therapists of acupressure as also for the people to get benefit of our experience. All possible efforts have been made to depict the location of the pressure points to be attended to through figures, suggestion for correction of the errors, if any, that might have crept in would be gratefully accepted.
