- Description: Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar is considered the Messiah of the Dalits in India. In 1947, the Constituent Assembly appointed him as the chairman of the Drafting Committee constituted for drafting the Constitution for independent India. He played a key role in building the Constitution. He was born on 14 April 1891 at Mhow (near Indore), a small town of present Madhya Pradesh. He was the fourteenth child of Subedar Ramji and Bhimabai Sakpal. Being from the Maharcaste, he was treated as an ‘untouchable’. His father and his grandfather had served in the British Army. Good schools were arranged by the then government for the education of the children of all military personnel. Therefore, despite being from a low caste, he got a good education. In 1937, Dr Ambedkar introduced a bill to end the ‘Khoti’ practice of Mahars working as official slaves in the Konkan region. When India became independent in 1947, he adorned the post of the Minister of Law. He had made a clarion call—‘Lost rights are never regained by begging... but by relentless struggle’. For his remarkable work, he was posthumously awarded India’s highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’ in the year 1990.

- Description: In this novel | have tried to give a blend of mythology and the perineal values and emotions of the human beings. The characters here have been chosen from the pauranik literature and yet feelings and reactions they express are germane to what we find in all human beings. At the thematic level the central point of the novel presents the love between shiv and sati. It is related to the protection of the divinity and spirituality in the universe. It suggests the union between two forces — Shiv and Shakti. The essential elements in a cosmic planning. lf shiv is a great lover then Sati too is not wanting in longing for his love. However as it is sati’s father, great Prajapathi Daksh, the son of Brahma keeps an umbrage against shiv. He abhors shiv and Is openly against the matrimonial alliance between his daughter sati and shiv. From the very beginning sati knows that shiv is her eternal spouse. But Prajapathi Daksh is bent upon destroying this relationship. However by quirk of fate sati is married to shiv. Not withstanding all resistance, Daksh is compelled to give his daughter away to the person he dislikes most, Shiv. Deeply hurt Daksh is now looking for a chance to insult his son in law when he arranges a yagya and doesn't invite them. Sati burns her out there in yog Agni. | have presented this so repeated story from a different angle. The first person narration here has been used for the expansion of philosophy and thought that result in giving a contemporary canvas. | have visualised myself as Sati for exploring the in-depth feelings and emotions of a woman. The use of the montage technique has allowed me to pick up some stories from countless stories of shiv and sati and put them into an imaginative, an unputdownable literary piece.

Description:

Tribal Phiolosphy
- Author Name:
Santosh Kiro
- Book Type:

- Description: The world of tribes in India is still undiscovered and it often appears mysterious to the common man. Their peculiar belief system, worship of myriad spirits, animals, plants, hills, rivers and mountains compound the mystery. Even today, their world view, lifestyle, ritual and value system remain beyond the grasp of the mainstream society. Tribes are often dismissed as just animists, without a philosophy. Scholars so far have been dwelling mostly on the anthropological aspects of the tribes. This book is the first systematic effort to deal with the tribes from the point of view of philosophy. The work goes beyond what appears about the tribes on the surface level, and delves into their world of cosmology, metaphysics, aesthetics, epistemology and eschatology, man-animal-nature relations, gods, spirits, body and soul. Though the book is a work of philosophy, it chooses to avoid dry and cumbersome _ philosophical process; but in the final analysis succeeds to bring forth the philosophy of the tribal community in a manner appealing even to the general readers. A large number of legends and folktales have been interpreted philosophically in order to give sensible meaning to them vis-a-vis Vedic philosophy and Christian philosophy; and it is therefore that the book promises to be an exotic journey into the world of the tribes.
K.R. Malkani Hindu-Muslim Dialogue

- Description: The BJP believes in the unity of the Hindustan Peninsula and the equality of all its people. It stands for “Justice for all and appeasement of none”. It welcomes diversity so long as it does not destroy our overall unity. It invites the people of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh to get over the trauma of the last fifty years, and draw on the historic experience of preceding centuries to weave a new and happier pattern of life in the Hindustan Peninsula. After all the hullabaloo about riots, most of the Hindus and Muslims are living in peace and amity most of the time. India and Pakistan, with all their hostility, have never fought for more than two weeks at a time. (Iran and Iraq bled each other for eight long years!) Even in the year of Partition, the best singers in Har Mandir, Amritsar, were Muslims. The men, who built the ‘samadhi’ of Dr. Hedgewar, the founder of RSS, in Nagpur, were Muslims. With all our diversities, we in the Hindustan Peninsula are One People, whatever the number of states. We can, and must, live in peace and amity. — from this book
