- Description: स्वामी दयानंद सरस्वती का वास्तविक नाम मूलशंकर था। उनका जन्म धार्मिक विचारों के सुसंस्कृत परिवार में हुआ था। सन् 1846 में केवल 22 वर्ष की आयु में उन्होंने अपना घर-परिवार त्याग दिया था। इसके बाद उन्होंने संन्यास ग्रहण कर स्वामी विरजानंद की छत्रच्छाया में शिक्षा-दीक्षा प्राप्त की । स्वामी दयानंद सरस्वती ने हिंदू धर्म में व्याप्त अनेक कुरीतियों को दूर करने के लिए गंभीर प्रयास किए। वे एकेश्वरवाद के प्रबल समर्थक थे और इसका उन्होंने बढ़-चढ़कर प्रचार-प्रसार भी किया। वेद उनकी प्रेरणा थे। उन्होंने लोगों को वेदों की महत्ता का ज्ञान कराते हुए उन्हें फिर से वेदों के अध्ययन-चिंतन की ओर लौटने के लिए प्रेरित किया। उन्होंने सिद्ध कर दिया कि पुराण ईश्वर-प्रदत्त ग्रंथ नहीं हैं, बल्कि वेद हैं । उन्होंने यह भी प्रमाणित किया कि उपनिषद् और पुराण जैसे धर्मशास्त्र ऋषि-प्रदत्त हैं, लेकिन वे सभी वेदों पर ही निर्भर हैं और उनकी मान्यता भी तभी तक है, जब तक वे वेदानुकूल हैं। ऐसे धर्मरक्षक पावन संत स्वामी दयानंद सरस्वती के अनमोल वचन इस संकलन में प्रस्तुत हैं, जो पाठक को धर्म, दर्शन, अध्यात्म, कर्म और मानव-मूल्यों की गहरी समझ देंगे।

Given their skills and other social qualities, they are also among the most sought after lots in most countries. Indian diaspora has performed well on all important parameters — political, economical, technological and cultural. India has also done very well in reaching out to its diaspora through various channels, including the youth. At over USD 75 billion annually, India is the top recipient of remittances. Diaspora could also be an important source of technology and know-how. Given their goodwill on both sides, they are a great source of confidence-building between India and countries of their adoption and have demonstrated their clout on many occasions. Over the last many centuries, Indians have travelled to many near and far off destinations in the world for trade, business, education and jobs. One major wave of such movement was carried out by the colonial administration under the so called indentured system for meeting labour shortages in their overseas plantations. This inhuman system of exploitation of workers finally ended and the centenary of its abolition was commemorated in many parts of the world including India during 2017-18. Antar Rashtrya Sahyog Parishad (ARSP) had organised year-long activities to mark this important landmark in the life of the Indian diaspora, culminating with an international conference on the topic, ‘Contribution of Diaspora in Nation Building’ in Mauritius in July 2018. Several leaders and scholars addressed this gathering, and this publication captures the essence of its outcomes.
