- Description: """खूब लड़ी मरदानी वो तो झाँसीवाली रानी थी...’ इन पंक्तियों का उद्घोष होते ही इनकी लेखिका सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान का नाम मन में कौंध जाता है। वीररस से ओत-प्रोत कवयित्री सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान का जन्म 16 अगस्त, 1904 को इलाहाबाद के निहालपुर गाँव में हुआ। वे बचपन से कविता लिखने लगी थीं। उनकी कविताओं ने उन्हें पूरे स्कूल में लोकप्रिय बना दिया था। महादेवी वर्मा उनकी बचपन की सहेली थीं। दोनों का साथ लंबे समय तक बना रहा। सुभद्रा की पढ़ाई हालाँकि नौवीं कक्षा के बाद ही छूट गई, लेकिन उनके साहित्य की गहराई से यह अभाव जरा भी नहीं खटकता। वे कांग्रेस की कार्यकर्ता रहीं और बापू की लाडली रहीं। जबलपुर में वर्ष 1922 का ‘झंडा सत्याग्रह’ देश का ऐसा पहला सत्याग्रह था, जिसमें सुभद्रा पहली महिला सत्याग्रही थीं। सुभद्रा बचपन से दबंग, विद्रोही और वीरांगना थीं। उनकी रचनाओं में उनकी स्वाभाविक अभिव्यक्ति देखी जा सकती है। उन्होंने लगभग 88 कविताओं और 46 कहानियों की रचना की, जिसमें अशिक्षा, अंधविश्वास, जातिप्रथा आदि रूढि़यों पर प्रहार किया गया है। ‘झाँसी की रानी’ उनकी सदाबहार रचना है, जो आज भी स्कूली पाठ्यक्रम में शामिल है और जल्दी ही बच्चे उससे स्वयं को जोड़ लेते हैं। ‘बिखरे मोती’, ‘उन्मादिनी’ और ‘सीधे-सादे चित्र’ उनके तीन लोकप्रिय कहानी-संग्रह हैं। 44 वर्ष की अल्पायु में 15 फरवरी, 1948 को कार द्वारा नागपुर से जबलपुर लौटते समय एक सड़क दुर्घटना में उनका निधन हो गया।"

कबीर निर्गुण सन्त काव्यधारा के ऐसे शब्द-साधक हैं जिन्होंने अपने युग की धार्मिक, सामाजिक एवं राजनीतिक व्यवस्था से टकराकर अद्भुत शक्ति प्राप्त की। पारम्परिक सांस्कृतिक प्रवाह में सम्मिलित प्रदूषित तत्त्वों को छानकर उसे मध्यकाल के लिए ही आस्वादनीय नहीं, बल्कि आधुनिक जनमानस के लिए भी उपयोगी बना दिया। भारतीय धर्म साधना में ऐसा निडर तथा अकुंठित व्यक्तित्व विरला है।
पंडितों, मौलवियों, योगियों आदि से लोहा लेकर कबीर ने जनसाधारण के स्वानुभूतिजन्य विचारों और भावों की मूल्यवत्ता स्थापित की। कबीर की वाणी सन्त-कंठ से निसृत होकर साधकों, अनुयायियों एवं लोक-जीवन में स्थान एवं रुचि भेद के अनुसार विविध रूपों में परिणत हो गई। इसलिए कबीर की वाणी के प्रामाणिक पाठ निर्धारण की जटिल समस्या कड़ी हो गई।
कबीर पन्थ में बीजक की श्रेष्ठता मान्य है, विद्वानों ने ग्रन्थावलियों को महत्त्व दिया है। सामान्य जन के लिए लोक में व्याप्त कबीर वाणी ग्राह्य है। अतः तीनों परम्पराओं में से किसी को भी त्यागना उचित नहीं है। फलत: कबीर की रचनाओं का समग्र रूप तीनों के समाहार से ही सम्भव है। प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थावली का सम्पादन इसी दृष्टि से किया गया है। मूल पाठ के साथ कबीर की मूल साधना तथा मन्तव्य के अनुकूल भाष्य प्रस्तुत किया गया है। इसमें अपनी इच्छित दिशा में आवश्यकता से अधिक खींचकर पाठकीय सोच को कुंठित करने की चेष्टा नहीं की गई है। कबीर-वाणी के प्रामाणिक एवं समग्र पाठ की दृष्टि से तथा उसमें निहित विचारों, भावों एवं अनुभूतियों को उद्घाटित करने की दृष्टि से यह कृति निश्चित ही महत्त्वपूर्ण एवं संग्रहणीय है।

- Description: भारतीय सैन्य पायलट विंग कमांडर राकेश शर्मा अंतरिक्ष में जानेवाले पहले भारतीय हैं। 13 जनवरी, 1949 को पटियाला में जनमे राकेश शर्मा सन 1970 में फाइटर पायलट के रूप में भारतीय वायु सेना में शामिल हुए। सन 1971 के भारत-पाक युद्ध में उन्होंने कम-से-कम 21 बार उड़ान भरी। वे अंतरिक्ष में यात्रा करनेवाले पहले भारतीय और विश्व के 138वें अंतरिक्ष यात्री बने। यह अंतरिक्ष मिशन लगभग 8 दिनों तक चला और 11 अप्रैल, 1984 को राकेश शर्मा एवं उनका दो सदस्यीय सोवियत दल पृथ्वी पर कजाकिस्तान लौट आया। ‘हीरो ऑफ द सोवियत यूनियन’ का सम्मान पानेवाले वे पहले भारतीय भी हैं। उन्हें अपने रूसी सह-अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों के साथ ‘अशोक चक्र’ सम्मान भी मिला। सेना से पद-मुक्ति के बाद सन 1987 में राकेश शर्मा हिंदुस्तान एयरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड में मुख्य परीक्षण पायलट के रूप में सम्मिलित हुए, जिसे उन्होंने 2001 में स्वचालित वर्क फ्लो बोर्ड का अध्यक्ष बनने के बाद छोड़ दिया। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक में भारत के गौरव विंग कमांडर राकेश शर्मा के पायलट से अंतरिक्ष यात्री बनने की रोमांचक कहानी है, जो प्रेरित करेगी और युवाओं को इस क्षेत्र में कॅरियर बनाने का पथ भी प्रशस्त करेगी।
