- Description: "महान् आविष्कारक मार्कोनी महान् आविष्कारक मार्कोनी का जन्म 25 अप्रैल, 1874 को ग्यूसेप, इटली में हुआ था। उन्हेंने बोलोग्ना, लोरेंस और लिवोमो में शिक्षा प्राप्त की। बचपन में उनकी शारीरिक और बिजली विज्ञान में गहरी दिलचस्पी थी। उन्होंने मैक्सवेल, हर्ट्ज, RIGHI, लॉज और अन्य वैज्ञानिकों के कार्य का अध्ययन किया। सन् 1896 में मार्कोनी ने वायरलेस टेलीग्राफी उपकरण बनाया और उसका लंदन में सफलतापूर्वक प्रदर्शन किया तथा जुलाई 1897 में वायरलेस टेलीग्राफ और सिग्नल कंपनी लिमिटेड (1900 में मार्कोनी के वायरलेस टेलीग्राफ कंपनी लिमिटेड फिर से नामित) का गठन किया। 1899 में उन्होंने इंग्लिश चैनल पर फ्रांस और इंग्लैंड के बीच बेतार संचार की स्थापना की। सन् 1914 में उन्हें एक लेफ्टिनेंट के रूप में इतालवी सेना में कमीशन मिला और 1916 में कमांडर की रैंक में नौसेना के लिए स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया। उनकी उत्कृष्ट युद्ध सेवा के लिए वर्ष 1919 में उन्हें ‘इतालवी सेना पदक’ तथा बाद में ‘ग्रैंड क्रॉस’ से सम्मानित किया गया। 20 जुलाई, 1937 को रोम में उनका निधन हो गया। उन्होंने विविध रूपों में मानवता की बड़ी सेवा की। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक में उनके जीवन-प्रसंगों के साथ-साथ उनके उपयोगी आविष्कारों के बारे में विस्तार से बताया गया है। विद्यार्थी व शिक्षार्थी ही नहीं, कुछ भी नया करने की इच्छा रखनेवाले विज्ञान-प्रेमी पाठकों के लिए एक उपयोगी पुस्तक। "

- Description: भुवनेश्वर प्रेमचन्द की खोज हैं। इसके दो प्रमाण हैं—(1) उनकी अब तक प्राप्त 12 कहानियों में से 9 और अब तक प्राप्त 17 नाटकों में से 9 प्रेमचन्द द्वारा संस्थापित ‘हंस’ पत्रिका में ही प्रकाशित हुए। और (2) भुवनेश्वर की पहली और एकमात्र प्रकाशित किताब ‘कारवाँ’ की पहली समीक्षा ख़ुद प्रेमचन्द ने लिखी। लेकिन भुवनेश्वर मात्र एक कहानीकार–एकांकीकार ही नहीं, एक उत्कृष्ट कवि, सूक्तिकार और मारक टिप्पणीकार भी हैं। अपने सम्पूर्ण लेखन में वे कहीं भी दबी ज़बान से नहीं बोलते। उनकी अंग्रेज़ी की 10 कविताओं में सत्यकथन की अघोर हिंसा का जो हाहाकार है वह हिन्दी कविता के तत्कालीन (छायावादी) वातावरण के बिलकुल विपरीत और अत्याधुनिक है। भुवनेश्वर ने ‘डाकमुंशी’ और ‘एक रात’ जैसी कहानियाँ लिखकर प्रेमचन्द के चरित्रवाद और घटनात्मक कथानकवाद का एक ‘तोड़’ प्रस्तुत किया। उनकी ‘भेड़िये’ कहानी आज की गलाकाट प्रतियोगिताओं की एक प्रतीकात्मक पूर्व–झाँकी है, जहाँ अपना अस्तित्व बचाए रखने के लिए दूसरों की बलि चढ़ाने में ज़रा भी हिचक नहीं। उनके प्रसिद्ध नाटक ‘ताँबे के कीड़े’ में संवादों के होते हुए भी संवादात्मकता का पूरी तरह लोप है। भुवनेश्वर के सम्पूर्ण लेखन में सन्नाटे का एक ‘अनहद’ है जो कहीं से भी आध्यात्मिक नहीं। भुवनेश्वर हिन्दी के एक ऐसे उपेक्षित और भुलाए गए लेखक हैं, जो अपनी पैदाइश के आज सौ वर्षों बाद अब ज़्यादा प्रासंगिक और आधुनिक नज़र आते हैं। भुवनेश्वर आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लेखक हैं।

- Description: ‘भारत का राष्ट्रीय पक्षी और राज्यों के राज्य पक्षी’ एक अनूठी पुस्तक है। इसका उद्देश्य है पाठकों को अपने पर्यावरण के प्रति सचेत व सहृदय बनाना। पिछली अनेक शताब्दियों से विश्व स्तर पर वन-सम्पदा तेजी से नष्ट हो रही है। बीसवीं शताब्दी आते-आते अनेक जीव-जन्तु तथा वृक्ष धरती से समाप्त हो गए। पर्यावरणविदों और पर्यावरण सुरक्षा से सम्बद्ध अन्तरराष्ट्रीय संस्थाओं ने इसे गम्भीरता से लिया। वन्यजीवों को बचाने के लिए डब्ल्यू.डब्ल्यू.एफ. ने चीन के राष्ट्रीय पशु दैत्याकार पांडा को अपना प्रतीक चिह्न बनाया। इससे विलुप्तप्राय पांडा को नया जीवन मिला। इसके साथ ही इस संस्था ने बर्ड फीजैंट एसोसिएशन, इंटरनेशनल यूनियन फ़ॉर कंजरवेशन ऑफ़ नेचर जैसी अन्य संस्थाओं के साथ मिलकर वन्य पशुओं, पक्षियों, वृक्षों, पुष्पों के संरक्षण का कार्य आरम्भ किया। विभिन्न देशों के राष्ट्रीय पशु, राष्ट्रीय पक्षी, राष्ट्रीय वृक्ष और राष्ट्रीय पुष्प इसी का परिणाम हैं। राष्ट्रध्वज, राष्ट्रगान, राष्ट्रचिह्न, राष्ट्रभाषा आदि के समान ये भी राष्ट्र का गौरव हैं। भारत ने स्वतंत्रता के बाद यह कार्य भारतीय वन्यजीव बोर्ड (इंडियन बोर्ड फ़ॉर वाइल्ड लाइफ़) को सौंपा। इस बोर्ड की संस्तुति पर जनवरी, 1963 में मोर को भारत का राष्ट्रीय पक्षी घोषित किया गया। इसके बाद अनेक राज्यों ने भी अपने-अपने राज्य पक्षी घोषित किए। किन्तु कुछ पक्षी ऐसे हैं, जिन्हें दो-दो राज्यों ने अपना राज्य पक्षी घोषित किया है। धनेस, पहाड़ी मैना, मोनाल राज हारिल और श्रीमती ह्यूम फीजैंट ऐसे ही पक्षी हैं। नीलकंठ एक ऐसा पक्षी है, जिसे तीन राज्यों ने अपना राज्य पक्षी घोषित किया है। भारत में दिल्ली और आसाम दो ऐसे राज्य हैं, जिन्होंने अभी तक अपने राज्य पक्षी घोषित नहीं किए हैं। केन्द्रशासित प्रदेशों में केवल लक्षद्वीप ने अपना राज्य पक्षी घोषित किया है। समाजशास्त्री और पर्यावरणविद् डॉ. परशुराम शुक्ल ने इस पुस्तक में इन पक्षियों के बारे में विस्तार से जानकारियाँ दी हैं। ये रोचक और ज्ञानवर्द्धक हैं। हिन्दी में अपने विषय पर यह अकेली पुस्तक है।

Over the last many centuries, Indians have travelled to many near and far off destinations in the world for trade, business, education and jobs. One major wave of such movement was carried out by the colonial administration under the so called indentured system for meeting labour shortages in their overseas plantations. This inhuman system of exploitation of workers finally ended and the centenary of its abolition was commemorated in many parts of the world including India during 2017-18. Antar Rashtrya Sahyog Parishad (ARSP) had organised year-long activities to mark this important landmark in the life of the Indian diaspora, culminating with an international conference on the topic, ‘Contribution of Diaspora in Nation Building’ in Mauritius in July 2018. Several leaders and scholars addressed this gathering, and this publication captures the essence of its outcomes.
