साहित्य में ‘मंज़रनामा’ एक मुकम्मिल फ़ार्म है। यह एक ऐसी विधा है जिसे पाठक बिना किसी रुकावट के रचना का मूल आस्वाद लेते हुए पढ़ सकें। लेकिन मंज़रनामा का अन्दाज़े-बयाँ अमूमन मूल रचना से अलग हो जाता है या यूँ कहें कि वह मूल रचना का इंटरप्रेटेशन हो जाता है।
मंज़रनामा पेश करने का एक उद्देश्य तो यह है कि पाठक इस फ़ार्म से रू-ब-रू हो सकें और दूसरा यह कि टी.वी. और सिनेमा में दिलचस्पी रखनेवाले लोग यह देख-जान सकें कि किसी कृति को किस तरह मंज़रनामे की शक्ल दी जाती है। टी.वी. की आमद से मंज़रनामों की ज़रूरत में बहुत इज़ाफ़ा हो गया है।

- Description: भारतीय फिल्म उद्योग के पितामह के रूप में विख्यात दादासाहेब फाल्के विलक्षण भारतीय कार थे। वे मंच के अनुभवी अभिनेता थे, उत्कृष्ट जादूगर थे। उन्होंने भारतीय फिल्म निर्माण की नींव रखी, जिसके ऊपर आज भारत का सिने उद्योग टिका है। उनके अभिनव प्रयोगों और नवाचार के कारण ही आज भारत में प्रतिवर्ष इतनी बड़ी संख्या में विविध विषयों पर फिल्में बन रही हैं और दर्शकों में लोकप्रिय हो रही हैं। 1891 में दादासाहेब फाल्के ने मुंबई में एक विदेशी मूक चलचित्र 'लाइफ ऑफ क्राइस्ट' देखा। उन्हें प्रभु ईसामसीह के स्थान पर कृष्ण, राम, समर्थ गुरु रामदास, शिवाजी, संत तुकाराम इत्यादि महान् विभूतियाँ दिखाई दे रही थीं । उन्होंने सोचा, क्यों न चलचित्र के माध्यम से महान् भारतीय विभूतियों के चरित्र को चित्रित किया जाए। उन्होंने इस चलचित्र को कई बार देखा और फिर क्या, उनके हृदय में चलचित्र निर्माण का अंकुर फूट पड़ा। आठ महीने की कठोर साधना के बाद दादासाहेब के द्वारा पहली मूक फिल्म 'राजा हरिश्चंद्र'
