- Description: "महाभारत हिंदू सभ्यता और संस्कृति का एक पावन धर्मग्रंथ है। इसका आधार अधर्म के साथ धर्म की लड़ाई पर टिका है। इसे पाँचवाँ वेद भी कहा जाता है। महाभारत में ही समाहित ‘श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता’ एवं ‘विदुर नीति’ इसके दो आधार-स्तंभ हैं। एक में भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण अधर्म के विरुद्ध अर्जुन को युद्ध के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं तो दूसरे में महात्मा विदुर युद्ध टालने के लिए धृतराष्ट्र को अधर्म (दुर्योधन) का साथ छोड़ने के लिए उपदेश करते हैं। यहाँ श्रीकृष्ण तो अपने उद्देश्य में सफल हो जाते हैं, लेकिन विदुर के उपदेश धृतराष्ट्र का हृदय-परिवर्तन नहीं कर पाते, जिसका परिणाम महाभारत के युद्ध के रूप में सामने आता है। लेकिन इसके लिए हम विदुरजी की नीति को विफल नहीं ठहरा सकते। उनका प्रत्येक उपदेश अनुभूत है और काल की कसौटी पर भलीभाँति जाँचा-परखा है; जैसे कि ‘पाँच लोग छाया की तरह सदा आपके पीछे लगे रहते हैं। ये पाँच लोग हैं-मित्र, शत्रु, उदासीन, शरण देने वाले और शरणार्थी।’ द्वापर युग की देन ‘विदुर नीति’ आज कलियुग में कहीं अधिक प्रासंगिक है, क्योंकि आज दुनिया में दुर्योधनों की बाढ़ सी आ गई है। अत: इसके उपदेशों से शिक्षा लेकर व्यक्ति, समाज, राज्य और देश को सुखी तथा कल्याणकारी बनाया जा सकता है। "

- Description: साहस, शौर्य, नेतृत्व, कर्मठता, वीरता, निर्भयता-किसी एक व्यक्ति में इन सबका समुच्चय होना कठिन होता है, लगभग दुर्लभ। परंतु भारत में शौर्य के प्रतीक हैं हमारे राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार श्री अजीत डोभाल। वह भारतीय पुलिस सेवा के सबसे सम्मानित अधिकारियों में से एक हैं। 'परम वीर चक्र' के बाद दूसरा सर्वोच्च वीरता पुरस्कार ' कीर्ति चक्र' पानेवाले पहले पुलिस अधिकारी हैं। उन्होंने अनेक कठिन और खतरों से भरे हुए ऑपरेशंस का सफल संचालन व नेतृत्व कर भारतवर्ष की अखंडता को अक्षुण्ण रखने में अप्रतिम योगदान दिया है। उन्होंने मिजोरम विद्रोह में एक फील्ड ऑपरेटिव के रूप में नाम कमाया, जहाँ उन्होंने विद्रोही नेता लालडेंगा को काबू किया। सन् 1989 में उन्होंने अमृतसर में स्वर्ण मंदिर से आतंकवादियों को निकालने के लिए ' ऑपरेशन ब्लैक थंडर' में पंजाब पुलिस एवं राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा गार्ड के साथ एक आई.बी. टीम का नेतृत्व किया। भारत में इसलामी आतंकवाद के खिलाफ महत्त्वपूर्ण अभियानों को उन्होंने दिशा दी और सन् 1993 में मुंबई बम धमाकों के बाद अंडरवर्ल्ड गैंगस्टर दाऊद इब्राहिम को पकड़ने के लिए बनाई गई टीम का नेतृत्व भी किया। 1999 में एयर इंडिया की फ्लाइट को अपहत करके कंधार लेकर गए आतंकियों से यात्रियों की रिहाई के लिए हुई वार्त्ता के भी वह हिस्सा रहे। सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक, डोकलाम विवाद, अनुच्छेद 370 हटने के बाद कश्मीर में हालात पर नियंत्रण, म्याँमार में सैन्य ऑपरेशन इत्यादि जैसे दर्जनों साहसिक अभियान उनके नाम हैं। राष्ट्र की सुरक्षा और सम्मान को सर्वोपरि माननेवाले, दृढ़ एवं कठोर निर्णय लेने में किंचित् न झिझकने वाले, अजीत डोभालजी की यह प्रेरक जीवनी उनके समर्पित राष्ट्र- जीवन की एक झलक मात्र है।

It is important to take a pause, and look beyond what is obvious...In doing so, it may dawn on us that not much is as it seems to be!!!
