- Description: अब तक सिद्धों-नाथों और संतों के बीच दार्शनिक सम्बन्ध ही अधिक खोजा गया है। परन्तु इस पुस्तक में मैंने दार्शनिक पक्ष के साथ-साथ उनके सामाजिक पक्ष को भी अंत:सम्बद्धता में देखा है। सिद्धों-नाथों और संतों के बीच अनेक समान्तर अंत सूत्र होने के बावजूद उनके दर्शन और विचार, उनकी भाषा और उनके सामाजिक सरोकार में अंतर देखने को मिलता है। यह भेद और उनके बीच की समानता को इस पुस्तक में कथ्य, संवेदना,रूप आदि के अलग-अलग स्तरों पर देखा गया। इस पुस्तक को प्रकाशित कराने का मेरा विचार 'प्रति संस्कृति' के निर्माण में सिद्धों, नाथों एवं संतों के योगदान को देखकर हुआ। अपने समय में प्रचलित मान्यताओं से इन्होंने अलग राह ली। परन्तु उसमें से कुछ समय से आगे और कुछ समय के दबाव और बहाव में ही गति करती रहीं। तीनों सम्प्रदाय के कवियों ने समाज में व्याप्त अनेक बाह्य आडम्बरों पर प्रहार किया, उनसे प्रति प्रश्न किया। परन्तु स्त्री के प्रति प्रचलित नजरिये को सिर्फ सिद्ध कवि ही तोड़ पाए। आडम्बरों पर तीनों सम्प्रदाय के कवि मुखर हैं परन्तु नाथों एवं संतों ने स्त्री को 'पितृसत्तात्मक' समाज में घुटने के लिए छोड़ ही नहीं दिया बल्कि अपनी राह भी अलग कर लीं।

हमारे दौर के असाधारण फ़िल्मकार और शायर गुलज़ार की फ़िल्म ‘मीरा’ की यह स्क्रिप्ट मीरा की जीवन-कथा का बयान-भर नहीं है। यह मीरा को देखने के लिए एक अलग नज़रिए का आविष्कार भी करती है।
जैसा कि स्वाभाविक ही था, माध्यम की ज़रूरतों के चलते, इस पाठ में मीरा हमें कहीं ज़्यादा मानवीय और अपने आसपास की देहधारी इकाई के रूप में दिखाई देती हैं; लगभग दैवी व्यक्तित्व नहीं जैसा कि इतिहास के नायकों के साथ अकसर होता है, और मीरा के साथ भी हुआ।
लेकिन मीरा के मानवीकरण में माध्यम की आवश्यकताओं के अलावा काफ़ी भूमिका ख़ुद गुलज़ार साहब की और एक रचनाकार के रूप में उनके रुझान की भी है। अपने गीतों में वे हवा, धूप और आहटों तक का मानवीकरण करते रहे हैं; फिर मीरा तो जीते-जागते इंसानों से भी कुछ ज़्यादा जीवित मानवी थीं।
मीरा और उनके युग का पुनराविष्कार करनेवाली फ़िल्म की स्क्रिप्ट के अलावा इस पुस्तक में गुलज़ार से उनके रचनाकर्म के बारे में यशवंत व्यास की एक लम्बी बातचीत भी है और साथ है ‘मीरा’ के निर्माण में आनेवाली मुश्किलों के बारे में गुलज़ार का एक संस्मरण, जो इस पुस्तक को और उपयोगी तथा संग्रहणीय बनाता है। सिनेमा के विद्यार्थियों और पटकथा लेखकों को भी यह पुस्तक बहुत कुछ सिखाती है।

- Description: डॉ. केशवराव हेडगेवार विश्व के सबसे बड़े व विलक्षण सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक संगठन राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के संस्थापक डॉ. केशवराव हेडगेवार का जन्म चैत्र शुक्ल प्रतिपदा संवत् 1946 विक्रमी को हुआ था। घोर निर्धनता में भी किशोर केशव का मन कभी धन-संग्रह का आग्रही नहीं रहा और न उसकी तेजस्विता में कोई कमी आई। राष्ट्र के सौभाग्य से केशव का विकास एक राष्ट्रवादी, ध्येयनिष्ठ, तेजस्वी और स्वाभिमानी व्यक्ति के रूप में निरंतर होता चला गया। केशवराव ने डॉक्टरी शिक्षा तो प्राहृश्वत की, पर उसे कभी अपना पेशा नहीं बनाया। राष्ट्र-चिंतन करते हुए डॉक्टरजी निरंतर अपने मित्र-मंडल का विस्तार करते रहे। अंग्रेजी राजाज्ञा का उल्लंघन करने पर 1 मई, 1921 को डॉक्टरजी पर नागपुर में अंग्रेज सरकार ने राजद्रोह का मुकदमा चलाया। ‘स्वतंत्रता आज नहीं तो कल मिलनी है’, इसे दीर्घजीवी कैसे बनाया जाए, इसी के समाधान स्वरूप विजयादशमी के पवित्र दिन, यानी 27 सितंबर, 1925 को उन्होंने अपने घनिष्ठ एवं प्रखर राष्ट्रीय चिंतनशील मित्रों तथा राष्ट्रभक्त तरुणों के साथ राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ की स्थापना की। संघ पर सरकार की वक्रदृष्टि रहती थी, अतः डॉक्टरजी ने सरकार की कुटिल नीति को समझकर 1933 ई. में नाग नदी के पार रेशम बाग में सवा दो एकड़ जमीन खरीदकर संघस्थान की स्थायी व्यवस्था कर दी। दिसंबर 1934 में वर्धा के शीत शिविर में महात्मा गांधी वहाँ आए और संघ की कार्य-पद्धति को समझा। द्रुतगति से संघ का विस्तार हो रहा था। अकोला नगर में लगे अधिकारी शिक्षण वर्ग में डॉक्टरजी को ‘श्रीगुरुजी’ के रूप में अपना उत्तराधिकारी मिल गया। संघ के अच्छे कार्यों से प्रभावित होकर 1934 में ही बाबाराव सावरकर ने ‘मुक्तेश्वर दल’, जिसकी पच्चीस स्थानों पर शाखाएँ लगती थीं, को राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ में विलय कर दिया। इससे संघ और मजबूत हुआ। अधिक परिश्रम तथा निरंतर भाग- दौड़ के कारण अब डॉक्टरजी अस्वस्थ रहने लगे। नागपुर के वर्ग में सभी प्रांतों से स्वयंसेवक आए थे, इस अवसर पर डॉक्टरजी एक लघु भारत के स्वरूप के दर्शन कर बडे़ प्रसन्न हुए; असह्य पीड़ा सहते हुए उन्होंने स्वयंसेवकों को संबोधित किया। जब संघ कार्य अपनी शैशवावस्था में ही था, तभी 21 जून, 1940 को डॉक्टर हेडगेवार का स्वर्गवास हो गया। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक अखंड भारत के अनन्य सेवक, प्रखर राष्ट्रभक्त एवं समस्त हिंदू समाज को अपने गौरवशाली अतीत का स्मरण करानेवाले और नई पीढ़ी को संस्कारित करनेवाले महान् तपस्वी की चित्रावली है।
